CAS Blog 12-11-19 (Service)

Over last weekend, I participated in service for NHS. We were working with Interfaith Ministries and Chore Chops to help elderly people with chores and other such things that they might not be able to do otherwise. It started at around 9:00 on Saturday morning, and we split into two groups each working on two peoples homes. The drive to the first house took a while, and we even stopped at the wrong house, but eventually we made it to the first woman's house. Our task at her house was to rake all of the leaves in her front yard, and put them into trash bags, which was a lot more difficult than that might sound. There was an absurd amount of leaves, but thankfully our group was able to efficiently rake them all together, and put large amounts of them into the few trash bags we had. The lady we were helping was also very nice to us, and she seemed to greatly appreciate what we were doing, which felt really nice.
