CAS Blog 1-27-21 (Creative)

For this blog, I've been working heavily on the creativity part of CAS. I have completed one painting, and am currently working on a second one. Both pieces have been a way for me to experiment with the fact that I have limited colors to work with, but I think they're very interesting. The first painting I made was done using exclusively shades of black and grey, and the one I'm currently working on is exclusively black and white.      I decided to make these paintings because I needed more works for my senior art show, and I didn't want to do a drawing like I have for most of my other works. For one of them, I actually have a sizeable canvas, and I can't wait to get all of it done and filled out.     I would say that this falls under learning outcome 5, showing perseverance and commitment. This is because I have been working on my senior art show for over six months now, and am committed to completing it.

Cas blog 1-7-21 (Activity)

For the first activity of the new year, I went to a protest after the attack on the capitol on January 6th. I was horrified by what happened at the capitol, and I knew that I had to do something to protest what happened. Originally I was planning on protesting by myself outside of senator Cornyn's office, but then I learned of a protest happening with other people that I decided to join. I made a sign that said "Stop Trump, defend democracy" and I stood at a busy intersection for a few hours calling for the impeachment of Trump. It made me feel a lot better to get my voice out like that and be seen fighting for something that I know is right.  Learning outcome 6: The attack on the capitol happened only two days ago, and I went protesting the day after it happened. I also intend on going to another protest sometime soon if they're planning on having any.
