Cas blog 12-27-21 (Activity)

 With the Christmas season over I've been reflecting a lot on the year, and also what I want to do for next year. That's why I've decided to start my new year's resolution early and get back to exercising. I had a personal trainer for a while, but currently, I don't feel safe going to the gym with other people around, so I'll be doing this on my own. I've been running consistently since early this summer, but I feel like there's more I can do to be in shape. So starting when I get back from my grandma's house, I'm going to do the following workout routine.  100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a half-mile run. I want to do this at least two or three times a week to keep myself in shape, and to supplement the somewhat minimal physical activity I've been getting lately. Cas Blog 12-10-21 (Service)

 Last weekend I was able to participate in another eagle scout project that was run by one of my friends. This time, we were helping to set up light fixtures and put some plants around the sign at the church that our troop meets at. We got together a good group of scouts, most of which I know from my time in the troop, and did a lot of hard work.  The biggest challenge I'd say was actually getting the soil to where it needed to be. The area around the sign was very big, so they had bought almost 30 bags of soil for us to spread around it. After carrying all of them and putting down the soil, we spent a good amount of the time just trying to get the soil at an equal level in every part of the circle around the sign. Thankfully, my friend who was leading the project was prepared and had provided us with gloves, shovels, and hoes, which made the job a lot easier.  The end result of the project was very good-looking, and I'm happy with how it turned out.
