Over the last weekend, I did some activity and visited some colleges. I flew over to Portland Oregon to visit Lewis and Clark University and Reed College. Portland was honestly a very beautiful city, and I had a good time exploring and walking around. It was surrounded by trees, and the city had an all around cozy vibe.
Anyway, the first college that I visited over the weekend was Lewis and Clark, which I absolutely loved. The campus was beautiful, surrounded by lush forests, with cool buildings. The school seemed very welcoming, and the walk around the campus was very nice. It definitely seemed like a place that I would want to spend my four years at college. During the tour their I actually ended up seeing Eleanor, which was pretty cool. It's a pretty weird sight to fly 1,500 miles away from home only to see people who go to your school of 88 kids though.
The second school the I visited was Reed College, which I didn't entirely like in all honesty. The campus was very collegiate to say the least; it looked like one of those colleges that was founded by some random tycoon in the gilded age. Our tour guide was kinda insecure, and he kept on insisting that none of switch tours in the middle whenever we got within a thousand feet of the other tour. I really did like some of the housing accommodations and stuff like that though. They had specific dorms for people who wanted to learn a language, and really be immersed in it with like-minded people. However, the school seemed a lot more academic focused rather than having a balance of both community and academics, which Lewis and Clark did seem to have.
Now that I've gotten home, I've been trying to get into contact with a woman from the HAWC to see if I can organize a donation drive to them for my NHS service project. She hasn't emailed me back yet, but hopefully she will soon so I can continue with the proposal.

Learning outcomes: one and three
