This week I have been doing a workshop to work on my extended essay for IB, and I'm so glad I did. Before this class I only had a rough draft done, but now I feel confident that I'm on my way to getting a final draft in soon. It was my first time being in school in person since the coronavirus started here. It was a little surreal, but I do think being at school helped me out a lot. There's something psychological about being back here and getting productive work done I think.

Anyway, my EE is about Patrice Lumumba, who was the first PM of the Congo, and his decision to ask the Soviet Union for aid. Every day this week I've worked a lot and put a lot of research into this paper. Today was the last day of the class, and I got to talk to Ms. Harrison about what I have so far. She said that it's very well written, but I still have a little ways to go. Along with that, she suggested that I think about contacting a university professor who was alive and in The Congo at the time the events I'm writing about took place. I'm confident that with all of her suggestions I will be able to turn in a really well-written final draft that I'm able to be proud of.

This week has mostly been an example of learning outcome one. This is because I learned what I was doing well with the essay, but also what I need to improve on as well.
